Registry Tweaks
On this page you'll find a few registry tweaks that will come in handy when you've been hit with any virus that won't allow you to:
| WIN9x/ME | run any program |
| WINNT/XP/2000 | run any program |
| WIN9x/ME | access the Internet Explorer Options Menu |
| WIN9x/ME | shutdown your computer |
WIN9x/ME Instructions:
Just right click and download any of the files, make sure you'll save them with the extension '.reg' and read them into the registry within plain MS-Dos. Reboot and hit <F8> key to enter the boot menu.
Example: regedit %your_location%\program.reg
will read file 'program.reg' back into the registry. Make sure you're in the Windows directorie when you'll do this. Command: 'cd \Windows' <ENTER> key will do it for you (without quotation marks).
NOTE: if any of this symptoms happened within five days, then a restore of the registry is most likely the best thing to do.
